Hydro presents the entire value chain when producing aluminium. From refining bauxite and generating its own electrical power, to producing primary aluminium and manufacturing products such as casthouse products, building systems, extrusions, rolled products, and automotive and transport.
In Argentina, Hydro is present with aluminium extrusion activities. The company has about 100 employees in the country.
The extrusion plant that Hydro is operating in Pilar, in the province of Buenos Aires, was established in 1985 and acquired by Hydro from Aldural SA in 2001. Most of Hydro's employees in Argentina work for the extrusion company.
The other employees are part of Hydro's building systems organization, which has an office and a warehouse located in Buenos Aires. The team is responsible for managing the company's three global systems brands - Domal, Technal and Wicona - in the country.
General extrusion and building systems customers in Argentina account for a large share of Hydro's business in the country. The company also manufactures and markets finished components for domestic customers.
